Materials: hook size H, yarn: cotton 2 colors, yarn needle and stitch marker.
Fusible interfacing, scrap fabric, needle and thread.
Ch 3, sl st into first ch to form a ring
Rnd 1: ch 1, 9 sc into ring, sl st to ch 1 to join. Place st marker here to mark beginning of each round and move up at each round throughout.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around
Rnd 3: sc in each st around
Rnd 4: 2 sc in fist st, sc in next st, repeat 2 sc in next st, sc in next st around
Rnd 5: sc in each st around
Rnd 6: 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 st, repeat 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st around.
Rnd 7: sc in each st around
Rnd 8: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 st, repeat 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 st around
Beginning of rows
Row 1: sc in next 12 St, turn
Row 2: ch1, sc across, turn
Row 3: ch1, sctog 1st 2 st, sc next 8 St, sctog last 2 st, turn
Row 4: ch1 sc across, FO.
With contrast color, join anywhere on coaster. Sc around edge. sl st to beginning st to join. FO.
Sew in ends and embroider on faces as you see fit.
I made a template for the coaster by tracing them on some paper and cutting them out. Cut 2 one for the interfacing and one for the fabric. For the interfacing on trim about 1/4 of an inch off the edge. For the fabric one add about 1/2 inch to allow for the seam.
I like fusible interfacing so that is what I used. Attach the interfacing for it’s instructions.
To get the back on, place wrong side to wrong side. Fold edge of fabric backing and pin in place around. Hand sew it on. I used a normal stitch.
